ALTA LIBRARY BRANCH of Teton County Library

RUFF READERS, a beloved READ WITH ME program that began in 2016 at Teton County Library, has expanded and is NOW being offered at the ALTA LIBRARY BRANCH in Alta, WY. Children ages 5 - 9 will read aloud to TCPP teams as a way to improve their reading skills and gain confidence. PLEASE NOTE!! THIS VISIT TAKES PLACE IN ALTA, WYOMING.

C BAR V Ranch

C - V Ranch’s students are very sweet, enthusiastic and creative. The feedback from this program has been incredibly heartwarming. In fact, it’s fair to say the students are probably doing as much (if not more) for our volunteers, as our volunteers are doing for them.

Children’s Learning Center

TCPP started a READ WITH ME program at CLC in the summer of 2018. These kids are little! Some of them may try to read to you, but most will either make up the story or you will read to them.

Colter Elementary School

Beginning in March, 2022, Colter Elementary School invited TCPP to provide a READ WITH ME program to each of their three kindergarten classes as a way to improve their reading skills and gain confidence. Some children will be able to read to the TCPP team and others are not quite at that level yet, so the handler will read aloud instead. At this age, energy is HIGH!

Community Entry Services

Starting in January 2022, TCPP began offering a WALK AND TALK program with Community Entry Services (CES) clients once a week. CES provides a full array of services for individuals with developmental disabilities. Please keep in mind, CES clients will benefit from your friendship as much as they will benefit from being with your dog, so please be ready and willing to talk while you walk.

Coombs Outdoors

Coombs outdoors is an afterschool program that empowers local youth to grow and thrive by reducing barriers to outdoor recreation through programs, mentorship, and community building. TCPP provides READ WITH ME programs to their 5-7 and 8-10 year olds during the school year.

Fireflies Preschool

The Fireflies Preschool (a program of Sweet Peas Babies) and TCPP teamed up to offer a READ WITH ME program to their students.  These kids are little and their attention spans are short, so rotations between small groups happens fast. Just like visits to CLC, some kids may try to read to you, but most will either make up the story or you will read to them.

Jackson Elementary School

Jackson Hole Airport

TCPP teams visit the airport to help lower the stress associated with traveling. Our teams typically hang out by baggage claim, TSA screening lines and car rental kiosks. Some teams have the necessary ID badge to bypass security and visit people waiting in departures, as well. You can visit JAC any day of the week. Be aware, expect to see several people traveling with animals at the airport.

Jackson Hole Children’s Museum

JHCM’s “Community Connections,” is a free after school program open to the public intended to connect local organizations with students. TCPP has been asked to provide READ WITH ME visits for this new program.

Jackson Hole Community School

Finals week is stressful!! We provide JHCS with animal therapy between tests - a welcome distraction for the high school students.

We provide JHHS students with therapy animal love to help them decompress and relieve the anxiety that comes with being a teenager and the dealing with the challenges of school life.

Kelly Elementary School

In 2022, Teton County Pet Partners began providing Kelly Elementary School with a READ WITH ME program. The classroom (consisting of a combination kindergarten and first grade) enjoys both reading aloud to the dog, as well as our “story time” format, where the handler reads aloud to the children.

Munger Mountain Elementary School

TCPP is spreading our reach to include Munger Elementary School to the list of schools we visit. We will provide our READ WITH ME program to two kindergarten classrooms starting December of 2024. Expect the energy to be HIGH!

Sage Living

This is TCPP’s best opportunity to visit with the elderly population in Jackson. We are so pleased to offer this part of our community the benefits of therapy animals again!

St. John’s Health

TCPP has been working with SJH since the late 1990’s. The program has been very popular with not only patients, but nurses and staff too. All volunteers must pass a background check, participate in the hospital's orientation and fulfill several other requirements. To volunteer at SJH, please start by emailing info@tcpetpartners.org.

Teton County Library

RUFF READERS, a READ WITH ME program in partnership with TCL, has gained a lot of traction in the community since its inception in 2016. Children ages 6 to 12 read aloud to TCPP teams as a way to improve their reading skills and gain confidence. This is a GROUP visit.

In 2022, TCPP added Teton County Parks and Rec to our list of partner facilities. Their programs reach many kids who live in our community, so we are very pleased to offer READ WITH ME to the summer Camp Jackson program and during the school year, Kids Club, the after school program.

Teton County Pet Partners Team Evaluation VOLUNTEER

TCPP hosts evaluations quarterly for prospective and renewing teams. Volunteers are needed to to help roll play certain crowd exercises. It’s and easy job and a GREAT way to learn if the Pet Partners program is a good fit for you and your animal.

Teton County Public Health

Teton County Public Health employees have spent many long and difficult hours, working to keep our community safe. Visit the Public Health staff to help mitigate stress and show our support and appreciation with puppy love.

Teton Literacy Center

TCPP began partnering with Teton Literacy Center in 2016, to reach children ages 6-10 and in 2019, we added a second program serving their 3-5 year old population.  These READ WITH ME programs are a big hit with students and volunteers.
